Cape Cod Campout
Fees: $20
Please RSVP and pay by 5/4. We can take a check or cash at the meeting, or pay online below.
Location:
Quaint and compact, Wellfleet Hollow State Campground offers an excellent opportunity for tent camping and exploring lower Cape Cod. The location is great for day trips to ocean beaches, Provincetown and area nature trails. A crystal clear pond is a 1/2 mile hike from the campground. This location acts as an excellent base camp as we discover the many wonders of the quieter side of Cape Cod including marshes, national seashore beaches, hiking trails, wildlife sanctuaries, kettle ponds and the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Duck Pond is a half-mile hike and offers swimming and non-motorized boating.
We are in Group Campsite B which provides easy access to the Rail Trail. Click the image below to take you to the campsites website.
Activities:
As the trip gets closer we will work closely with the scouts to come up with an agenda for Saturday that includes riding the Rail Trail, Visiting the beach, and Visiting one or more other scenic areas in the area.
We will transport bikes in the Troop’s Trailer, or on car carriers attached to the vehicles driven out.
Transportation
We will take the troop trailer. We are allowed to park up to 4 cars in the site, which should be enough to transport however many Scouts come.
Meet: 5pm at the firehouse
Departure: 5:15pm from the firehouse
Dinner: Scouts should bring a bag dinner that they can eat in the car, or when we arrive to the campsite.
Return
We will depart the campsite o Sunday around 9am
Travel takes a little over 3 hours.
The goal is to be back in time to not require a lunch on the road.
Drivers will keep passenger’s parents notified with more precise arrival time as we get underway on Sunday
